The Society For Martial Arts Instruction is a kick butt not–for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization offering karate classes in NYC, and committed to empowering people of all ages through the knowledge and practice of martial arts and somatic movement sciences. It is the home of the first teacher training program for martial artists that combines Laban Movement Analysis and embodied anatomy and kinesiology, Karate-Do Kenwakan, Infant Developmental Movement Education, No Way, Know How Preventative Self-Defense Workshops, and the Martial Artists Developing Leadership Education and Peace Scholarship Event (MADLEAPS). At SFMAI we offer excellence in both eastern and western martial arts, fighting systems, and exercise science based classes led by instructors who are well trained to train you well.
